What is the registration process for an import export code?
Import and export Code or IEC is given to business operated by the DGFT. The process of obtaining the code entails the following process:
1. Gathering the following documents:
a. These documents are:
i. COI of the company.
ii. MOA and AOA of the company.
iii. Note about the need of import-export code.
iv. List of the directors of the company.
v. A board resolution
2. File the application for IEC registration to the DGFT official website. Attach the documents along with the application.
3. If the application is right in every sense of the word, you are going to get the IEC code that you are looking for.
Step by step Procedure for New IEC Online application or IEC Code modification
Step-2 Enter PAN and press Search Button. Then system will prompt for the following:
(a) Name of Company
(b) Date of Birth/Incorporation (DOB/DOI)
After entering above given details at (a) and (b) the system will verify your Name ,DOB/DOI from the CBDT PAN Web Server and then it will direct to DGFT- IEC application enabling you to file for fresh IEC application with the message “Your PAN has been verified by CBDT web service. Please proceed”
Now click on Next → Now enter Mobile Number and Email ID on which OTP comes.
(Please Note; Enter the Name and /DOB (DOI) correctly otherwise your authentication on the PAN server site will fail)
Step-3 After enter OTP now update IEC MATER DATA, PROPRIETOR DETAIL, BRANCH DETAIL (IF ANY) as per your relevance.
Step-4 Now upload Documents first Address proof and second Bank Certificate or Printed cancelled cheque for fresh IEC Code online.
For IEC modification upload Signed Copy of IEC Application & scanned copy of Part-C of ANF-2A.
Step-5 Now Make the online Payment for IEC code Application
Step-6 After filing all details and uploading relevant documents and making payment, now click on submit button.
Step-7 After clicking the submit button, on screen a popup will come which indicate your Application have been filed successfully and take the print IEC certificate for further reference.
